The War On Drugs
NOS Stage. 06 JUL.
The War on Drugs began their career in 2008 with Wagonwheel Blues, followed in 2011 by the second album of originals, Slave Ambient, a work that was quickly welcomed by critics and fans and was considered as one of the albums of the year. In 2014 Lost in the Dream was edited, one of the band’s most acclaimed albums and three years later, in 2017, A Deeper Understanding.
I Don’t Live Here Anymore – the first studio album since 2017 – released in 2021, began to be thought and worked on after the band received the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album with A Deeper Understanding. Directed by Granduciel and co-producer and engineer Shawn Everett, the album was recorded in the three years that followed where the recording of the songs was adopted as a unit, rather than the fragmented approach they used in the past.
The War On Drugs are currently composed of Adam Granduciel (voice and guitar), David Hartley (bass and guitar), Robbie Bennett (keyboards), Charlie Hall (drums), Jon Natchez (Saxafone and keyboards) and Anthony LaMarcar (guitar).
